Much of my artistic work revolves around reimagining. Reimagine my role as a black woman in society, as well as the world's perception of me.
The core of my work is a general sense of home, belonging, and simplicity that can be felt through my visual images. I acknowledge the importance of materials in my work while simultaneously exploring new printing methods, adding tactility and structure to feel the images.
The subjects frequently turn their faces away from the camera, placing the lens in an observational position. The camera is an external entity, constantly observing me through the captured subjects, tracking my movements, and striving to gain entry. While I try to exist simply!
