Much of my artistic work revolves around reimagining. Reimagine my role as a black woman in society, as well as the world's perception of me.
The core of my creations is a general sense of home, belonging, and simplicity that can be found in my visual images. I strive to identify and acknowledge the importance of materials in my work, while simultaneously exploring new printing methods.
The subjects frequently turn their faces away from the camera, placing the lens in an observational position. Therefore, I perceive the camera as an external entity, constantly observing me through the captured subjects, tracking my movements, and striving to gain entry. While I try to simply exist!
